My name is Chelsey, and I am not a one-size-fits-all wedding photographer. My style is a mix of photojournalism and creative portraiture. I love real moments, and moments in between moments. I want to shoot weddings in beautiful outdoor locations with gorgeous light and beautiful backdrops and lots of DIY details. I love weddings that have meaning and feeling and pure, raw emotion. Anybody can pick up a camera and take a photo. That’s not what I do, though. I find the story, and I tell it in a way that no matter who looks at the images, they can feel as if they were there. That’s what’s so important to me. While I love a beautiful tablescape and do-it-yourself details and all the beautiful things that go into a wedding, the emotion, the love, the story…that’s what it’s all about to me.
People ask me all the time what I do for a living. I get to spend all of my time documenting the story between two people, figuring out what makes them tick and what makes them smile and what makes them beautiful.
